Bhandirvan is one of 12 forests of Vrindavan. It is at Bhandirvan that Radharani and Krishna got married.
Though, the special thing about this marriage is that it was not performed in front of the whole world but it was arranged by yoga-maya potency of Lord.
Lord Brahma acted as the priest of the marriage ceremony.
The locals say that only 10 million confidential associates of Divine Couple (that included sakhis, peacocks, parrots, cows and monkeys) participated in this marriage.
Also, it is only those 10 million who had the mercy (kripa) to attend that marriage can enter Bhandirvan in present times.
It is at Bhandirvan that Balaram Dau killed Pralambhasura demon sent by Kansa.
Just nearby Bhandirvan (around 600 metres) is Vamsivat. It is at Vamsivat that Krishna used to eat lunch with his sakhas (friends). Also, Krishna used to play His flute here to call Radharani and all the gopis.
There is a tree at Vamshivat which is very very special for the sincere seekers. If one puts his ear on the trunk of this trees, closes his eyes and remembers Srimati Radharani and Krishna with love and sincerity, they can hear the mridanga beats of rasa.
The book 'Demystifying The Mystical Vrindavan' is the essence and crux of this entire website.
If you are considering to dive into the final goal of our Vedic Scriptures and spiritual life, and if Radharani inspires you, do get a copy of the book .
How to reach Bhandirvan?
The best way to reach Bhandirvan is to book a cab as it is around 21 km from Vrindavan via highway route. If you have a bike, you can cross the Yamuna near Keshi Ghat by boat or by the makeshift bridge (that is open except for monsoon season). By this Keshi Ghat - Belavan - Bhandirvan route, it is just 8 km from Vrindavan.
Public transport is also available but you have to change auto at three places and the frequency of autos to Bhandirvan area is very less. The best option is to go via cab or own vehicle.
Temple
There is a nice little temple under a huge tree that has deities of Radharani and Krishna exchanging garlands while Brahma Ji is performing the rituals of marriage.
You can find a lot of peacocks near the temple at Bhandirvan.
Just nearby this viviah sthal (marriage area) is the temple of Balarama Ji which is where Pralambhasura was killed by Balaram Dau.
The entire area is very peaceful, serene and looks very pleasing and beautiful.
Confidential
Spending one hour at Bhandirvan is equivalent to performing bhajan for 1 Kalpa (4 billion 320 million years). 1 Kalpa is the length of day of Brahma as mentioned in Srimad Bhagavatam Canto 5.
One should chant as many rounds of Hare Krishna Mahamantra while in Bhandirvan. Though, it is very difficult to step here unless sanctioned by Srimati Radharani Herself. If one is greedy for vraja-prema-bhakti and really wants to understand the confidential aspects of Vrindavan Prema Rasa, one should sincerely and desperately chant Hare Krishna Mahamantra.
