How association with others can program our thoughts in right or wrong manner? The science behind what you eat is who you are, and why food turns prasad when offered to Lord?
Earlier, or even today, during any yajna (fire sacrifice) ceremony, priests or rishis are seen taking sankalp (resolution) by holding water in their fists. Basically, they are ‘programming’ the water (we will get into the intricacies of it in the discussion below)!
If water from Ganga is not physically present in a puja (worship ceremony), the priest chants Ganga three times by holding water in his fists to invoke Mother Ganga right there! That water programmed with the words ‘Ganga Ganga Ganga’ is regarded same as the water of Mother Ganga, and the puja is performed.
Similarly, if while taking bath, somebody remembers Radha Kund, and chants three times ‘Radha Kund, Radha Kund, Radha Kund’ with a humble and sincere heart, then they will get the result of Radha Kund Snan (bath)! One can read the very last verse of Nectar of Instruction about what Srila Prabhupada writes for Sri Radha Kund!
Masaru Emoto, a Japanese author of bestseller book ‘The Hidden Messages in Water’ has studied and researched in detail about effect on water due to external condition, specially thoughts and emotions.
In 1994, he lead a study where he kept three glasses of water and said few words in each of them. In the first glass of water, he said ‘love’, in the second ‘thank you’, and in the third, ‘I hate you’. Then he froze the water and studied each of the frozen structure under a microscope.
The surprising fact he discovered was that in the first two glasses, the water molecules were nice and healthy, but in the third one, it was distorted and ugly!
He concluded that water molecules responds to the external emotions, consciousness and thoughts!
Many academicians have come up in support of this experiment and many are skeptical. A lot many people also conducted similar experiment and found the results to be true!
Though, from Vedic point of view, as well as astrological point of view, it is absolutely true (Talked about in the discussion ahead)!!!
Now, the things that get interesting here is that out of five elements, our body is having about 70% water. Thus, it’s quite easy to comprehend how much of our external condition affects us!!!
The most common food ingredients like rice, wheat, dal, fruits or vegetables require water for proper growth. The base of farming is water! Producing one kilogram of rice requires 3000-4000 litres of water!
So, it’a a no-brainer that when the food is being cooked, it can easily acquire thoughts and emotions of the person cooking it, due to the huge water component behind its growth.
When a mother cooks for her child, it’s the loving consciousness that makes the food special! When somebody is cooking food, they need to have positive thoughts for the food to remain healthy and nourishing.
Thus, devotees make food for Divine Couple Radha Krishna, and the food turns to prasad when offered to Them, and empowers the devotee’s mind to understand spiritual subject easily as well as fine-tune the body in best nourishing manner!
Hence, devotees who go out to preach carry a bit of prasad so as to have the subtle impact to transform consciousness of people who will eat it!
Hence when one is in devotional service, and considers themselves servant of Gurujana and Divine Couple, and when they cook food in bhajan (devotional) mood, the food is of unbelievable spiritual potency and it transforms them 1000x spiritually.
What to speak if at somebody’s home, the kirtan of Srila Prahupada or Sripad Aindra Prabhu is played 247 on bluetooth speakers! The food (prasad) then will pull the seeker very quickly to Vrindavan Prema Rasa owing to it being surcharged with potency of holy names!
Eating of non-vegetarian food should be strictly banned by all, no matter whether they are devotees or not, as you are eating consciousness of animal who is struggling and is in acute worry and cry. What will be the consciousness of a person eating non-veg? Pathetic to be very frank. They are simply not humans.
Rasikjana say that there is always water scarcity, famine, earthquakes and lot of geographical troubles around area where there is lot of cow slaughter, meat eating and illicit activities going on.
Thus, it is said that what you eat is who you are! Thus, a sincere seeker should be very careful about consumption of right food (prasad). They should not eat from any food joints or restaurants as the young waiters there watch ‘what not’ content on their phones. The consciousness of devotee can be spoilt by having such outside food. They should only have prasad offered to Lordships if they want to seriously approach the devotional and blissful life.
As human body is composed of ~70% water, our thoughts get influenced by who we meet and associate with in our daily life. If we spend time with them, talk with them on non-sense subjects, eat with them, then our body get’s programmed with their influence!
So, Srila Rupa Goswamipada says that we should only associate that much with non-devotees that is barely required, and not more than that. With devotees, we should only associate with those in whose presence we can easily remember Radharani and Krishna, who are in similar Guru Bhav and which is beneficial for our spiritual advancement.
Everybody carries a certain vibe and one can’t help get influenced by other’s until one is in their unalloyed pure eternal constitutional position. Thus, the association should be checked.
When we need to associate with anybody for some work, we should try to chant Hare Krishna Mahamantra internally and remember lotus feet of our Srila Prabhupada. All work should be eventually offered to Divine Couple mentally to be free from any karmic reactions of that work.
Srila Prabhupada mentions that before conception of a child, both the aspiring parents (both husband and wife) should chant 50 rounds of Hare Krishna Mahamantra on that day. As such, semen doesn’t exist in human body, and during the act, semen, the finest of substance in the human body is immediately created when the male and the female unite together. Thus, when they chant 50 rounds of Hare Krishna Mahamantra in a day, their body will become laden with spiritual potency, and they will then invite a special confidential associate of Divine Couple acting as their child. This sex life is not contradictory when done in service of Divine Couple to invite a special Krishna Conscious child. That child by birth would be a bhajanandi!
Astrologically, moon is reflective of water, mother, nourishment, emotions and mind.
It is well known scientifically that the tides in the sea occur daily due to the gravitational effect of the moon. The taste and ripening in vegetables and fruit happens due to the moonlight in the night, as well mentioned in Srimad Bhagavad Gita (15.13).
Everywhere we can see in the nature that water is simply being programmed for sustainment of life.
As mentioned above as well, astrologically, moon is reflective of motherly emotions and nourishment. Usually, the mother or motherly figure’s love and care while raising the child is how the child’s mind shapes out for major part of their life. Thus, moon also represents our mind in astrology and Vedic scriptures. Whenever our mind is disturbed, we should take a glass of water, offer it mentally to Divine Couple & Gaur Nitai by chanting Hare Krishna Mahamantra to program it (as mind only finds shelter and peace in Lotus Feet of Radharani, Krishna, and Gaur Nitai), and simply drink it as prasad that is tasted by Divine Couple. In doing so, the mind will automatically get calmed. This is a very simple remedy!
Shravan is Nakshatra of moon. Shravan means ‘hearing’. In the context of devotional life, hearing and chanting of holy names (Hare Krishna Mahamantra) is most important of 9 modes of devotion. Sripad Aindra Prabhu’s moon in his birth chart is in Shravan Nakshatra. He re-started the 24 hour kirtan initially started by Srila Prabhupada at Krishna Balarama Mandir, Vrindavan, and eventually inspired all of us to take to Nama Sankirtan with all our heart out.
When one takes to chanting of Hare Krishna Mahamantra, our body (that consists of 70% water content) is programmed and nourished with complete spiritual perfection. By chanting Hare Krishna Mahamantra sincerely, all the inner aspects of Vrindavan Prema Rasa will be revealed to simple-hearted and humble seeker in due course of time!
