Srila Narottam Das Thakur Prabhupada remembers Sri Advaita Acharya, upon whose prayer Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu had appeared and distributed the treasure of love of the Divine Couple. Unable to find him and feeling intense separation from Srila Advaita Acharya, Narottam Das Thakur calls to him with a sincere heart.

Verse (2)
kāhā mora swarūp rūpa kāhā sanātan
kāhā dāsa raghunātha patita-pāvan

Dearer than the Lord are his servants to the practising devotees. Although Srila Narottam Das Thakur Prabhupada is an eternal associate of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, his prayers, which are filled with vipralambha (separation) bhav for our Acharyas, teach us how to call out to them to receive their mercy.

During the external manifestation, when Acharyas like Swarupa Damodar, Srila Rupa Goswami, Srila Sanatana Goswami and Srila Raghunatha Das Goswami had disappeared, Srila Narottam Das Thakur Prabhupada found it impossible to carry on with his life.

Apart from the association of devotees who are coloured in love for the Divine Couple, a seeker has no solace. Srila Narottam Das Thakur sees himself as belonging to the lotus feet of the dust of those Acharyas who are the purifier of conditioned life.  Thus when they all disappeared, Srila Narottam Das Thakur burned in the fire of separation from them.

Verse (3)
kāhā mora bhaṭṭa-juga kāhā kavirāj
eka-kāle kothā gelā gorā naṭa-rāj

Bearing the burden of being unable to associate with Raghunath Bhatta , Gopal Bhatt Goswami and Krishna Das Kaviraj Goswami, Narottam Das Thakur Prabhupada searches for them like a madman in the hope of again hearing the nectarine pastimes of Divine Couple from their lotus mouth.

In an attempt to associate with the Lord Gauranga, who is filled with ecstasy, and who danced on the land of Navdwip tasting the sweet mellow of the Holy Name of Krsna and had now disappeared, great flames of burning separation arose in the heart of Srila Narottam Das Thakurpada.

Verse (4)
pāṣāṇe kuṭibo māthā anale paśibo
gaurāńga guṇera nidhi kothā gele pābo

Being in intense distress and pain, sometimes fainting, sighing and trembling upon not finding the associates of Lord Gauranga near to him, Srila Narottam Das Thakur Prabhupada desires to give up his life airs by repeatedly smashing his head on a rock.

He finds entering fire better than maintaining his life without the association of servants of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.

Yearning to find again the Golden Master who is a storehouse of all splendidly auspicious qualities and his very life, Narottam Das Thakur Prabhupada weepingly begs to know His whereabouts.

Verse (5)
se-saba sańgīra sańge je koilo bilās
se-sańga nā pāiyā kānde narottama dās

Realising his helplessness not to be able to again associate with those confidential servants of the Lord with whom He performed His eternal pastimes in Vrindavan and Mayapur, with whose mercy one can cut the material rope by hearing narrations from their moon-like mouths about divine pastimes and the direct vision of the Lord, Srila Narottam Das Thakur cries streams of tears and with a heavy heart.
