How to deal with vrajvasis, priests at different places and temples, different types of devotees living in Vrindavan?

It’s been a few weeks that I was inspired by Guru Tattva and Vrindavan Dham to post this article. A word of note that before reading this article, do first read the article “How to greet various types of devotees?”

So, when a sadhaka (seeker) takes to devotional life, they regard vrajvasis as appreciable.

Internally, it is all amazing. Srila Prabhodananda Saraswati Thakur Prabhupada writes in Vrindavan Mahimamrta that anybody living in Vrindavan is most worship-able and revered.

However, it is often seen that many devotees and vrajvasis living in Vrindavan do activities that are beyond the conception! It shocks a sincere seeker first hand and often breaks their faith as well.

So, how does one analyse this?

Srila Prabhupada strictly says that we should not indulge with vrajvasis. Rasikajana here say that one should offer deep respect to the vrajvasis, but also at the same time, maintain considerable distance from them unless it’s by some arrangement that one is made to render service to them.

Aindra Prabhu was asked once if the vrajvasis who are acting contrary will be able to go back to Goloka Vrindavan. To this, Aindra Prabhu replied that in the rasa lila, not all the Gopis were allowed. If the Gopis even had a tinge of pride or surrender left for the devotional life, they couldn’t go and participate in the rasa-lila immediately. Some of them gave up their lives, completed the process in next life and then were allowed entry to the rasa-lila. Similarly, if the vrajvasis act contrary, then they will have to go through the longer path, and though Goloka Vrindavan is assured, but it will take some time!

Though, it is all Krishna playing with Himself and His associates, but in garb of devotees and vrajvasis, one can often experience with them dealings worse than even material people. They can act crazy and hence it is better to maintain quite a distance from them.

Demystifying the Mystical Vrindavan Book Ad on site

The book 'Demystifying The Mystical Vrindavan' is the essence and crux of this entire website.

If you are considering to dive into the final goal of our Vedic Scriptures and spiritual life, and if Radharani inspires you, do get a copy of the book .

Many can also tend to disregard Srila Prabhupada and teachings of our Guru Shishya Parampara, and in association of them, devotees who are in Srila Prabhupada’s shelter can also find it weird and can stray. This can create disturbances in spiritual life of a sincere seeker without any reason.

Some devotees after coming to Vrindavan also leave Srila Prabhupada shelter in envious mood, not recognising him at all. This is crazy but it has been a fact. Read Why Hare Krishna Movement is complete and why Srila Prabhupada has given all?

It is Srila Prabhupada who has revealed Vrindavan to the entire world by his karuna (compassion), and Aindra Prabhu, who has performed sankirtan almost 15-20 hours on a daily basis for over 24 years, says that this Hare Krishna Movement is complete and Srila Prabhupada has given us all.

In this context, Srila Prabhupada tells one devotee who wanted to join at other place whimsically that he blesses him to never get Krishna! Gurujana call these seekers who hop from one place to other as pakhandi (deceivers). Seeing them is worse than even material association for one can stray in their association back to the cycle of birth and death for millions of lifetimes.

Also, there is no need to ask for any blessings from anywhere at any places in Vraj. All blessings of our Srila Prabhupada, Aindra Prabhu is all there in chanting of Hare Krishna Mahamantra. Nama Nama Nama! If one is sincerely taking shelter of Nama, they are blessed and protected by entire Guru Shishya Parampara, Gaur Nitai, Radharani, Krishna personally.

The most intimate remnants of Gurujana is Nama, and Nama will direct all to a sincere seeker from within.

Only association should be where the moods of devotional life match, and where there is no dealings of money or anything material, and only where there is exchange of Nama and Guru Vani  (words) with no ulterior motive of anything other than Radharani and Krishna.

Also, it is better not to get too friendly with priests at various temples or places in Vraj as they may often demand money, and one should definitely give as per one’s capacity seeing it as resources of Radharani, but it’s difficult to judge what is going on internally hence one should try to be distant from priests with just minimal exchange or talks only about Nama and nothing else.
